Barbara Susan Cohen

I have practiced exclusively in the area of Family Law for three decades. The majority of my practice over the past twenty years has been devoted to alternative dispute resolution processes in Family Law.

I am a qualified Family Arbitrator, an accredited Family Law Mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM) and a qualified Collaborative Family Law practitioner.

I have served on the Board of Directors of OAFM Ottawa as president, Collaborative Practice Ottawa for the past seven years and I am currently an appointed member of the Family Law Bench and Bar Committee.

My long standing passion for alternative dispute resolution processes in Family Law stems from my vast litigation experience and witnessing the damage it inflicts on litigants, both financially and emotionally.
